Plasterers / Stucco Masons apply, maintain, and repair protective and decorative cement-based coatings (stucco) or plaster to exterior/interior walls and ceilings. Key duties include setting up scaffolding, mixing materials, applying finishes using trowels or spray equipment, and creating textures, while ensuring durable, weather-resistant surfaces in, often hot, Southwestern conditions. Plasterers can work on industrial, residential and commercial projects, and their duties vary according to the type of job.

Responsibilities
- Installing interior and exterior coatings, including Venetian plaster and specialized textured finishes
- Applying, leveling, and smoothing coats using trowels, brushes, or spray guns, and creating decorative, or textured finishes
- Fixing worn-down stucco on, building exteriors to ensure structural, integrity
- Residential jobs: Apply plaster material over interior or exterior masonry surfaces, especially manufactured wallboard & drywall surfaces, including plaster, stucco, or acrylic
- Industrial and commercial jobs: Spray specialized coatings for sound control and hand-trowel, or spray fireproofing material for fire protection
