They install a variety of piping systems in homes, businesses, hospitals, and industrial facilities including drain waste & vent, roof drain, water, gas, and medical gas systems. Union plumbers are responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing work vital to Arizona's health and safety. Plumbers handle systems such as drinking water, ventilation and sewer systems, and wastewater treatment systems.

Responsibilities
- Read blueprints & specifications to determine plumbing layout
- Locate, mark, join, and secure pipe sections
- Cut holes in walls & floors to accommodate pipe
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape & size
- Install, test, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures & systems
- Assemble and install valves & fittings
- Install underground storm, sanitary & water piping systems
